Smiling Minds & Busy Hands
Immersive & Play-Based Learning: Happiness and wellbeing anchor our Early Years approach. We offer a rich, play-based curriculum that sparks imagination, fosters awe and wonder, and lays foundations for lifelong learning. Underpinned by the UK’s EYFS Framework and rooted in seven areas of learning, our curriculum comes alive through open-ended invitations to play, real-world experiences, and deep connections to nature.
Our nurturing space celebrates curiosity, frees imaginations, and ensures every child’s voice matters.
Happy Beginnings – Settling-In & Transitions
Our warm, gentle settling-in process builds strong, trusting relationships from the very beginning.
With familiar faces, cosy spaces, and lots of smiles, we help every child feel safe, secure, and excited to explore. Daily routines follow gentle rhythms balancing structure with freedom, offering rich blends of child-led play, outdoor adventures, focused learning, and quiet reflection.
Parents as Partners
When families and educators work together, magic happens.
We view parents as key partners in their child’s journey through open communication, hared learning experiences, engaging workshops, and everyday interactions that build strong, two-way connections between home and school.
Prime Areas of Learning
The Foundations of Learning
Communication
and Language
We listen, talk and share ideas! Embracing the power of storytelling, role play, and conversation by joining in with stories, songs and rhymes, our children grow into confident communicators. Our language-rich spaces support children in building vocabulary, expressing themselves clearly, and enjoying meaningful conversations every day.
Physical
Development
From balancing on logs and stirring in the Mud Kitchen to prancing and pegging on the washing line, we keep our children active and engaged. Through indoor and outdoor play, they build strength, coordination, and control, developing key physical skills in ways that are joyful, purposeful, and natural.
Personal, Social, and Emotional
Development (PSED)
Kindness, confidence, and friendship anchor our early years. Children build strong relationships, understand feelings, and develop independence through play, teamwork, and gentle guidance. They learn to care for themselves, others, and their world while navigating friendships and building self-confidence.
Specific Areas of Learning Expanding Horizons
Literacy
We nurture lifelong love of reading from the very beginning through language-rich environments with high-quality texts, rhymes, songs, and systematic phonics instruction. Story provocations, imaginative play, and meaningful mark-making experiences develop essential early literacy skills and foundations of writing.
Mathematics
Maths is everywhere! Our curriculum embraces the Maths Mastery Approach, embedding deeper learning of mathematical concepts and skills. Children develop mathematical language, reasoning, and problem-solving skills through stimulating provisions and engaging learning opportunities.
Understanding the World
We nurture curiosity about nature, people, and places through purposeful observation, hands-on exploration, and real-world experiences. Children make sense of their environment, develop appreciation for the world around them, and gain early understanding of sustainability.
Expressive Arts and Design
Children become artists, storytellers, musicians, and makers of marvellous things! With open-ended resources and space to imagine, they explore colour, sound, movement, and storytelling, experiencing the joy of self-expression every day.
Arabic in Early Years
Arabic is introduced in engaging and age-appropriate ways that nurture a love for the language and its rich cultural heritage.
Through stories, songs, rhymes, play, and interactive activities, children begin to recognise sounds, words, and simple expressions, gradually building their early literacy skills, and develop the use of the language in everyday contexts, develop confidence in communication early literacy skills.
Islamic Studies in Early Years
(For Muslims only)
Islamic studies in FS2 supports children in developing an early appreciation of faith, values, and good character through engaging, age-appropriate activities.
As per the MoE guidelines, the purpose is to nurture foundational Islamic understanding and moral development using stories from the Qur’an, simple duas, and hands-on experiences. This approach aims to instill kindness, respect, and love for Allah and His creations, helping young learners connect Islamic values to their everyday lives.

Thriving Together! Wellbeing and Mindfulness
Children’s wellbeing is at the heart of our practice. We support emotional literacy, resilience, and regulation through nurturing routines, mindfulness activities, and trusted adult relationships. Children are supported to understand feelings, build emotional strength and find calm through connection and mindfulness.

Our Daily Routines
A gentle rhythm shapes each day, offering a balance of structure and freedom. Throughout the day, children enjoy a rich blend of child-led free play, outdoor adventures, focussed learning and quiet reflection time.

Parents as Partners in Learning
We believe learning is a shared journey, and parents are an essential part of that adventure. We build strong relationships with families, ensuring that learning flows seamlessly between home and school. Through ongoing dialogue, shared learning journeys, parent workshops and meaningful involvement, we build a strong home-school connection.

Settling In and Transitions
Starting in the Early Years is a big step—not just for children, but for their families too. We offer a warm and thoughtful settling-in process, where trusting relationships and nurturing connections help children feel safe, secure, and ready to thrive.

Celebrating Diversity and Inclusion
We embrace each child’s unique identity, creating a culturally rich and inclusive environment where all languages, traditions, and abilities are respected and celebrated. Through stories, shared experiences, and cultural events, we foster empathy and global understanding.

Magical Moments & Enrichment Events
Our calendar is sprinkled with joyful experiences that bring learning to life—from themed dress-up days to cultural celebrations, discovery weeks, and visits.
